Drake students gain an education that blends a foundation in the liberal arts and sciences with outstanding professional programs. That unique combination spells success: Nearly all Drake graduates (97.7% in 2000) find career employment or enter graduate schools after earning their degrees.

Drake University also has an excellent academic reputation. Drake's origins are in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and it has a strong historical and current tie to First Christian Church, a large congregation and building adjacent to the Drake campus. Neighborhood leaders recently established a vibrant and growing community center at First Christian, and many Drake students and employees find opportunities for service by volunteering at the community center.
