Eureka CollegeEureka College is a four-year, private, liberal arts and sciences college that provides its students with personalized learning and life experiences.

Eureka's greatest resources are its people. The faculty, staff and students at the College form a community that fosters learning through interaction with others, as well as the individual pursuit of knowledge. The people at Eureka create a college with unique warmth and personality.

Eureka College is committed to a renewed relationship with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The College was founded in 1855 by members of the Christian Church. Today, this historical foundation is expressed in the strategic goal, "Eureka College will increase the presence of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) tradition in all areas of campus life and have EC recognized as one of the Top 3 schools affiliated with the church."

This commitment is also demonstrated by new grants and scholarships for Disciples students.

Learning. Service. Leadership. Excellence. These words define Eureka College and most recently in these ways:

  • Evan Coates (class of 1999) selected as one of the USA Today top 20 college students in the United States.

  • Langston Hall, the new residence hall, opened fall 1999.

  • The International Health Care Development Project, created by Eureka students, provided rural healthcare education and experience in Ecuador and India, June-July 1999.

  • The D.O.C. (Disciples on Campus) group took a Spring Break Mission Trip to Good Samaritan Ministries in Los Fresnos, Texas,1998-99.

  • Eureka graduates were accepted at 13 medical schools, including Johns Hopkins, Stanford and University of Chicago.

Located 20 minutes from Peoria, Illinois, and 30 minutes from Bloomington, Illinois, within the town of Eureka, the College provides students "the best of both worlds."
